Nov 20th, 2006Moving To SeattleAs of Thanksgiving 2006, I will be relocating to the beautiful city of Seattle, Washington to continue my day job career as a video game designer. With the success, enjoyment, and sense of accomplishment of this last year of traveling, photography will still take up a large part of my life. Nov 8th, 2006National Geographic Contest Winner!!Great news! One of my photos, "Himalayan Pause", taken from Nepal's Gokyo Ri, has been selected as the Grand Prize winning image in the Nature Valley sponsored, "Where's Your Nature Valley" National Geographic Photo Contest. July 18th, 2006Back home in TexasAfter an incredible month in Japan, I have (sadly) ended my second trip around the world and returned home to Texas. In Japan, I was able to spend 2 weeks in crowded Tokyo nights, climb Mt. Fuji, and another 2 weeks exploring the traditional old capital of Kyoto. Updating galleries soon! June 18th, 2006From India to JapanBy train in the summer heat of Delhi to the holy city of Varanasi, then by jeep from the tea capital Darjeeling to the beginnings of monsoon season in the Himalayan state of Sikkim. I watched pilgrims bathe in the Ganges, spent time in the jungle with village schoolchildren, and participated in family life in Gangtok. Now off to Japan! April 15th 2006From Nepal to IndiaI've completed a trek to Everest Base Camp in Nepal, witnessed a quiet revolution in the capital, Kathmandu, and have now arrived in India for travel to Delhi, Varanasi, Darjeeling, and Sikkim. Bierstadt near Denver. I plan to get used to 14,000 ft altitude over the next 10 days. |
